Autumn leaves at Minamoto Shrine(水元神社) in Kawanabe(川辺).

The shrine is famous for the very clean spring water.

Minamoto means the origin of the water.

I visited the shrine in late autumn.

Koma-inu in Chiran

Koma-inu.

It is a kind of the gardian of Buddhism in East Asia.

This Koma-inu is in Toyotama-hime shine(豊玉姫神社) in Chiran(知覧).

Chiran is famous for a suicide attack base of WW2.

I ate the first rice of the year yesterday.

The day of Bon-odori

Saifuku-ji(西福寺), the temple of buddhism in our town, held a bon-odori party.

Bon-odori is a kind of Japanese traditional dance party which large part of local community members support or join.

Saifukuji runs a nursery.

The bon-odori party is also a festival of children in the nursery.

Mount Kaimon and the sea

Mount Kaimon(開聞岳) and the sea.

The mountain is called Satsuma-fuji, Mt. Fuji in Satsuma(Kagoshima).

Beautiful shape of the mountain deserves the name of Mt. Fuji.

A port of Makurazaki

Makurazaki(枕崎) is a city which is famous for katsuo-bushi.

Katsuo-bushi is the smoked bonito, traditional ingredient essential for Japanese soup.

If you visit Makurazaki, you will find the smell of katsuo-bushi all around the city.

A small clothes store

Alongside route 226, there is a small clothes store in Kasasa(笠沙).

In the back, mount Noma(野間岳) can be seen.

I have ever thought it as grocery, but actually not.

The vending machine occupies more than half of the front of this store.

When I was a walking in Nomaike(野間池), a small fishing port, I found it.

Fishermans can untie the net easily.

This small hause is a religious facility of Shugendo(修験道).

Shugendo is Japanese folk faith for nature.

In Nansatz, in the past, many people were with Shugendo.

But now, the small house has been forgotten at all.

A circle and a cross

The tile roofing in Takeda shrine(竹田神社).

The emblem with a circle and a cross is a symbol of Shimazu family.

They are the governers of Kagoshima for hundreds years before the Meiji Restoration.

On the shrine, Tadayoshi Shimazu(島津忠良) is enshrined.

Kame-ga-oka means a hill of turtle.

that is made of laminated lumber, mainly japanese ceder.

It is one of the longest bridges of laminated lumber in Japan.

Today, I got to be thirty one years old.

My family had a dinner at an Italian restaurant "L'ORO DI NAPOLI" in Kagoshima city.

There is a heavy rock oven, imported from Napoli.

Kagoshima city and Napoli are sister cities.
